At the moment it’s just a low mutter, but it will build. No wonder… I’ve been here for just over a year now. Things were fine, but I am hearing it more and more frequently lately; those six words that cause me to fuss and twitch and pine and writhe. Is it them? Me? A combination seems likely, but the cold sordid leftovers of my adolescent brain are pointing the finger squarely away from myself.

I promised myself only a few short months ago that I would stay here till at least the end of the year. No problem, easy peasy. I need that time to save money, I thought to myself. I have utterly failed on that part. I truly have no more savings than I did a few months ago due to some barely-justified large purchases and what seems to be an inability to get myself to make my own lunch in the mornings. How much money must I spend on food?! It seems ridiculous! I’m already paying money to my parents for groceries! How can I have been receiving the income I receive for over six months now and still have no real savings to show for it?!

And now “till the end of the year” is starting to feel like a million miles worth of grumpiness and taking things from my room and putting other things into it and complaining all the time away.
